I am bursting with happiness that spring has finally arrived. I’m anxiously counting down the days until flowers start to bloom (daffodils started this weekend!) and the fruit tree blossoms start to pop (checking the High Park cherry blossom monitor daily!).

My spring style has come out in full force and I am loving bright colours. I wore this look for lunch with Dan last week. I loved the blue and yellow together but I especially like this combination for the textures. Combined together in this outfit are: lace in the top, smooth leather in the skirt, tapestry and fringe with the jacket, and textured leather through the wallet. Since this outfit only uses 3 colours (blue, yellow, and white)  and one of them in a neutral (white) all of these textures work well and ensure that the outfit isn’t too overwhelming. If you are someone who prefers a more monochromatic clothing palette, combining textures is a great way to give your outfits more depth. Velvet, lace, tone on tone embroidery, denim, suede etc. All of these textures can work beautifully together when combined in a subtle way with a simple colour palette (like I have here) or a monochromatic palette.

Happy spring, Friends!!
