A New Product Line from Yves Rocher – Pure Calmille
When I visited La Gacilly with Yves Rocher back in June (remember this blog post?) it was camomile season out in the fields. That very camomile (well, maybe not the VERY camomile, but you get it;)) that is harvested in La Gacilly is the product used in this newly repackaged and reformulated line – Pure Calmille. Camomile (German Camomile, to be exact :)) was one of the first botanicals cultivated by the Yves Rocher brand making this one of their iconic lines that they have been making since 1964. Today, the Pure Calmille line is free of colorants, silicone, mineral oils and parabens and is composed with over 91% botanical ingredients. These products embrace the natural essential oils of camomile to benefit our skin.
So, I’m going to walk you through these new easy breezy, no fuss products. And, as it turns out, I guess I love all things camomile, so included at the bottom of this post is a deeee-licious camomile tea latte bonus recipe!
Let’s Look at the Product Line!
This line has a range of everyday products that cover you from the start of the day in your shower to the end of the day when you remove your make up. All these products smell and feel JUST how you would want and expect them to, being camomile based! Soft, subtle and lightweight. This feels like a product line that can kind of cover everyone – it’s easy, suits any skin type and is just very simple. I’ve given it the nickname of ‘Chill Pure Calmille’ because it’s just that low key.
Pure Calmille Deep Cleansing Gel and 2 In 1 Cleanser & Toner
The Yves Rocher gel cleansers are some of my favourite products for washing my face. They have various gel cleansers, based on your skincare needs, and this Pure Calmille one is great in that it is suitable for all skin types.
The 2 in 1 cleanser and toner literally does 2 steps in 1…what’s not to love there!? This feels so soft and gentle compared to other face washes and almost feels as if you are cleansing your face with a moisturizer (you know how your skin feels when you go in the water with moisturizer on…it feels like that!).
Pure Calmille Face & Body Comfort Cream
Ah, a good ol’ cream! This cream is super hydrating and, while I am a total slacker on daily body moisturizing (working on it, promise :)), this has been perfect for my hands and will be a go-to when my skin gets that dry winter burn. The great thing about this cream is that it is also lightweight enough to be a face and body cream. See, like I said…this line is so easy going!
Ultra Soft Facial Cleansing Wipes
Annnnd one of my favourite products ever – facial wipes! As much as I love my evening skincare routine (because it makes me feel like a pampered princess) there are definitely nights when I fall asleep on the couch and just cannnnot be bothered to do all the steps when I wake up. These are a saviour on those nights! I’ve also had a really difficult time finding a facial wipe that doesn’t hurt my skin (I don’t think I have particularly sensitive skin but for some reason facial wipes just always sting!) but these ones are great!
Now, a bonus recipe below inspired by that pretty little dried flower above…camomile!
Have you Ever Had a Camomile Tea Latte?
Now, as many of you know, Dan is a coffee lover and recently made the switch to become a barista and learn all about coffee. Funny enough, I don’t drink coffee. I do, however, spend a lottt of time in cafes with him! Usually I will just get a sparkling water or a tea (so fun, I know) but when I am feeling FUN I’ll get a tea latte. I love herbal teas and sure enough camomile is one of my favourites. So, inspired by the Pure Calmille line by Yves Rocher, I set out to come up with a camomile tea latte recipe (with the help from Dan, of course!). Guys, this one is GOOD.
Ingredients for 1 Camomile Tea Latte:
- 1 heaping tablespoon of looseleaf tea (I used Sloane Citron Calm which is a Camomile and Lemongrass blend and LOOK at how beautiful it is!) or 1 bag of camomile tea of your choice
- 1/3 cup of boiling water
- 2/3 cup of milk (a higher fat milk like 3.25% is great for this but any milk will do :))
- 1 teaspoon honey
How to Make a Tea Latte at Home
- Boil water for your tea concentrate (it is going to be much stronger than a regular tea!). Measure out your looseleaf tea or use a tea bag and place into a cup. Add 1/3 cup of boiled water and allow it to steep for 4 minutes.
- While your tea is steeping heat your milk on the stove. Keep the heat low and just allow the milk to simmer – never boil. While your milk is heating use a whisk or fork to whisk it, fairly continuously, to create froth**. I heated the milk for about 5 minutes on low low heat.
- Remove the looseleaf tea from your water – your tea concentrate is complete. Dissolve in 1 teaspoon of honey.
- Add your frothed milk to your tea concentrate. Enjoy!
**You can froth your milk in various ways. The method I have described above is the easiest and requires no tools that you likely don’t have already. If you have a milk frother (like this Bodom one or this little one), that is a great option. And of course, using the milk wand on any cappuccino machine will get the job done well. Get yourself some bubbles in whatever way you can!
