How To Wrap Flowers to Make the Perfect Gift

How to Wrap Flowers

I’ve said it before, but when it comes to gift giving, presentation goes a long way. Buying flowers in a beautiful arrangement made by a florist is great but can also be expensive if you are just looking for a small gesture (talking myself out of a job here!;)). A bunch of flowers, even from the grocery store, can be a lovely gesture if presented properly. I am giving you 4 ideas on how to wrap flowers to take your gift to the next level.

1. Wrap Flowers in Brown Craft Paper and Ribbon

This is a classic and simple way to wrap flowers. I opted for a simple satin ribbon to offset the craft paper so that the look isn’t too rustic; but it’s all personal preference. This piece of paper is about 14″x14″. Place your flowers as per the photo above. Fold the bottom corner so that it is in line or slightly above the bottom of the flower stems. Wrap tightly, first the left side and then the right over top and tie with the ribbon.

2. Wrap Flowers in Newspaper with Yarn

This is the perfect option for if you do not have any wrapping supplies in the house – just find a newspaper! The yarn is a sweet touch (and also a great ‘in-a-pinch’ material to find), but any type of ribbon would work just fine. Place your flowers as per the photo above. I used a standard sized newspaper sheet opened up and folded the bottom corner generously so that it is in line or slightly above the bottom of the flower stems. Wrap tightly, first the left side and then the right over top and tie with the yarn (I went twice around).

3. Wrap your Flowers in a Napkin with String

This adds a little more to your gift because you can choose a cute napkin or tea towel that can be used afterwards! Twine matched the style of this Anthropologie napkin. Place your flowers as per the photo above, fold the bottom corner so that it is in line or slightly above the bottom of the flower stems. If you use a larger napkin you may want to fold it in half. Wrap tightly and tie tightly with the twine.

4. Wrap your Flowers With Tissue Paper and Cellophane

Line a sheet of tissue paper on top of a piece of cellophane. Place the tops of your flowers in the upper corner as with the other arrangements and have the cellophane and tissue paper approximately in line with the bottom of your flowers. Due to the rectangular shape of this tissue paper I did not need to fold the bottom corner. Wrap tightly, first the left side and then the right over top and tie tightly with the ribbon. I loved the striped tissue paper with the simple white ribbon but you can go wild with different colours and types of ribbon.
