Up, Up and Away!
Last week Dan and I took a quick trip to Nashville to visit his sister, Christine. Packing for a trip, regardless of length, is a bit of an art to me. My number 1 pet peeve is sifting through bags to find one specific item and I also really hate carrying heavy baggage (ask Dan!) so packing only the essentials is important.Even though this was a short flight, I took my lean packing mentality to my cosmetic case too and selected just the items I thought I would benefit from most while on the plane.
We always select early flights so that we can get the most out of our trip and have a full first day in the new city. When we leave the apartment at 4am to head to the airport I never want to put on make up, but when I am about to touchdown in a new city and it is now noon there I want to make sure I look somewhat refreshed! Here’s my picks that I feel are most important to look and feel fresh so I can hit the ground running in the new city!
During the Flight
- EOS Hand Lotion
- Hand sanitizer
- Yves Rocher Nourishing lip balm
During the flight it is all about keeping hydrated! My lips and hands are chapped on the best of days, so I like to have lip balm and a small travel sized moisturizer just a short reach away. EOS products like their purse sized moisturizer are available at Shopper’s Drug Mart and Loblaws amongst many other places, and Yves Rocher products like this lip balm and cleansing wipes below are available in their standalone stores located in many malls. Hand sanitizer is a must while travelling. When that little bag of pretzels arrives I want to eat them in mental peace; confident that I’m not eating a ton of airport germs at the same time!
Ready for Touchdown
- Yves Rocher Moisturizing and Cleansing Wipes
- Joe Fresh Concealer
- The Face Shop Cushion Blush
- BITE Beauty Lipstick in Mascarpone
- NEST fragrances rollerball perfume (Dahlia & Vines is my favourite for a fresh flowery scent)
These Yves Rocher wipes are one of my favourite products I have used lately. They are to cleanse and moisturize – and they really do! They make my face look great, so they’re the first step for me looking ready to go! For makeup I like to keep everything compact. That’s why this Joe Fresh tube concealer and Face Shop Cushion blush are perfect – no brushes needed! The concealer covers any spots and tired dark eyes and blush is my favourite thing to breathe a little life into my face. With a smack of a natural toned lipstick like this one from BITE beauty I’m pretty much ready to go. The final thing is a dab of perfume and these roll on ones by NEST are perfect for your purse. You don’t want anything that will spray and create too much scent for the people around you, so a roll on product like this is a good way to go.
